My name is Pamela Baker.
I am a Christian, mom, artist, musician, singer/part time worship leader, and now, in my not-really-spare-time, I am a blogger too. I love to work in oils, I owe this to my mother who I used to watch as a child. I owe the blogging to my son Justin.
I have many goals as an artist. I have always loved realism, and greatly admired the European Masters. I am taking realism to a new level by making it multidimensional. This will be emerging more in my next several pieces. It is also my goal to create work that can not be easily copied by a computer. Why? I think that maybe I saw Captain Kirk outwit the computer one too many times on Star Trek!! I like to think that we the people can still do a few things better than machines.
My earlier works are mostly wildlife, my later works and those to come are to make a statement for God The Father, God The Son, empowered to do so by God The Holy Spirit. My goal with these works is to create work with impact, that people do not just walk by, but rather are left with a life long impression.
My goal with this blog is not only to show my work but to network Christian artists and artisans, to discuss the challenges to Christian artists today, and to share information and resources.
It is also my goal to raise funds for organizations that care for orphans. The first of these is Ivan Tait Missions/What Matters Ministries. Pastor Ivan has built orphanages in Guatemala, Mexico, and Africa. To find out more …
